2-Day Zanzibar to Selous, Nyerere National Park

Nyerere National Park (part of the former Selous Game Reserve) is close to Zanzibar, which makes it an ideal destination for bush and beach experiences. Selous is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife. Large mammals share a habitat with reptiles, birds, and primates. Predators stalk through the grass and river forests, searching for prey. Visiting this remote park is the perfect way to view these spectacular animals in their native habitats.
Day 1: Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park
In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transferred to the airport for your 30-minute flight to Nyerere National Park (part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve). Upon arrival at Selous Mtemere Airstrip, you will meet your driver guide and be transferred to Nyerere Tented Camp for a full breakfast. The Camp is found just a few minutes’ drive from the Airstrip.
After breakfast, you will spend a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park taking a packed lunch with you to maximize your game drive time. You will have a picnic lunch break from a safe vantage point for a chance to spot the images of your dreams ranging from beautiful scenery to fascinating views of wildlife, in a natural habitat.
