This 10-day safari blends the thrilling big game viewing of Ruaha and Mikumi National Parks with the tropical island paradise of Mafia Island. Begin with Ruaha’s rugged wilderness, home to large elephant herds and big cats. Continue to Mikumi’s classic savannah plains with abundant wildlife. Finish on Mafia Island, famous for its marine biodiversity, coral reefs, and relaxed beach vibe. Transfers between locations can be arranged by road or domestic flights. Day 1: Arrival and Afternoon Game Drive in Ruaha National Park
Fly or drive from your chosen location to Ruaha. Upon arrival, meet your guide and head out for an afternoon game drive. Expect sightings of lions, elephants, leopards, and a variety of antelope. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 2 & 3: Full Days of Game Drives in Ruaha
Spend two full days exploring Ruaha’s vast landscapes with morning and afternoon game drives. Enjoy picnic lunches in the bush to maximize wildlife viewing time. Return to camp for evening meals and overnight stays.
Day 4: Transfer to Mikumi National Park and Afternoon Game Drive

Day 5 & 6: Full Days of Game Drives in Mikumi

Day 7: Transfer to Mafia Island
After breakfast, transfer to Mafia Island by road and flight via Dar es Salaam or by arranged boat transfer. Upon arrival, check into your beachfront resort. Relax and enjoy the island’s serene atmosphere.
Day 8 & 9: Marine Activities and Island Exploration
Spend two days enjoying Mafia Island’s marine wonders. Activities include snorkeling or diving at the coral reefs, boat trips to spot whale sharks (seasonal), kayaking, and visiting local villages. Relax on pristine beaches and savor fresh seafood.
Day 10: Departure
